Terms and Conditions & Return/Refund Policy

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club website, services, mobile application, and SMS communications (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing the Service, registering an account, placing an order, or providing your phone number, you agree to be bound by these Terms alongside our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully.

Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club operates as a Private Membership Association (PMA) delivering farm-direct food — including raw milk, pastured eggs, and grassfed beef — to member families across Ohio. Membership is voluntary, and all transactions are between member-owners.

1. Definitions

The following terms are used throughout this document:

  • Company: "Company," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club, 3971 Hoover Rd #290, Grove City, Ohio 43123.

  • Member / Customer: a person or entity that has signed up to use the Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club Service.

  • Device: any internet-connected device — phone, tablet, computer — used to access the Service.

  • Service: the full range of services provided by Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club, including the website, fulfillment platform, order management, SMS notifications, and delivery operations.

  • Website: accessible at www.localmeatclub.com and www.rawmilkclub.com.

  • You: a person or entity registered with Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club to use the Services.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using our website, registering an account, placing an order, or providing your mobile phone number for SMS communications, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. Membership

Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club operates as a Private Membership Association. Members apply for membership voluntarily and acknowledge that they are participating as member-owners of the collective food supply. Membership may be revoked at our discretion for violations of these Terms.

4. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

This section governs your consent to receive SMS (text) messages from Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club. These terms are required by our SMS service provider Twilio, Inc., and comply with CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.

4.1 Program Description

Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club sends transactional SMS messages to members and drivers. Message types include: order confirmations, delivery ETAs and driver dispatch notifications, delivery confirmation, order cutoff reminders, and driver route navigation links.

4.2 How to Opt In

You opt in to receive SMS messages by providing your mobile phone number when applying for membership at localmeatclub.org or during driver onboarding via our driver portal. By providing your number, you expressly consent to receive text messages related to your orders and deliveries.

4.3 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your order and delivery activity. Members may receive up to 3–5 messages per delivery week. Drivers may receive route link notifications on each scheduled delivery day. Message frequency may be higher during peak delivery periods.

4.4 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club is not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.

4.5 How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent, except as required by law. You may also opt out by contacting us at (614) 377-3807 or info@localmeatclub.com.

Opting out of SMS will not affect your membership status or your ability to receive order updates via email.

4.6 How to Get Help

4.7 Non-Sharing of Mobile Numbers

We will not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile number is shared only with Twilio, Inc. (our SMS delivery provider) solely for the purpose of sending you the messages you have consented to receive. Twilio's privacy policy is available at www.twilio.com/legal/privacy.

4.8 Supported Carriers

Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost Mobile, and other major US carriers. Carrier support may vary. Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club and its service providers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Orders and Delivery

By placing an order through Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club, you agree to the following:

  • Orders placed before the Monday noon cutoff will be scheduled for the current week's delivery. Orders placed after the cutoff will be scheduled for the following week.

  • We reserve the right to cancel any order due to inventory limitations, quality issues, or delivery constraints. You will be notified in advance of any cancellation.

  • Delivery times are estimates. Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club is not liable for delays caused by weather, traffic, or other circumstances beyond our control.

  • Members are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive refrigerated items or that appropriate cooling arrangements are in place at the delivery address.

6. Return and Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping at Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club. We want to make sure you have a rewarding experience while exploring, evaluating, and purchasing our products. The following terms apply to all transactions.

6.1 Return Window

If there is something wrong with the product or service you received, or if you are not satisfied, you have one (1) week from the date of delivery to request a refund or return.

6.2 Return Requirements

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must be returned with the original receipt of purchase.

  • The product must be in its original packaging as we sent it.

  • The product must be free of damage. If we find any damage to the product that was not present at the time of delivery, we reserve the right to cancel the refund.

Due to the perishable nature of our products, returns of opened, consumed, or temperature-compromised items cannot be accepted. Refunds for quality issues are handled on a case-by-case basis — please contact us promptly if you have a concern about product quality.

6.3 Refund Process

We commit to serving our members with the best products available. Every product is inspected and packaged with care before it leaves the farm. If we must cancel your order due to inventory or quality issues, you will be notified in advance and a full refund will be issued. Refunds for approved returns are processed within a few business days. You will be notified when the refund has been issued. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

6.4 Shipping Costs for Returns

Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club is not responsible for return shipping costs. All return shipping must be paid by the member, even if the original order shipped with free delivery. We recommend using a trackable shipping method for all returns, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.

6.5 Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with a description and, where possible, a photo of the issue. We will work with you to issue a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you. Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club is not liable for damage caused during transit by third-party carriers.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club website and platform — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Meat Club | Raw Milk Club and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or from any products purchased through the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the United States, without regard to conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Franklin County, Ohio.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update, amend, or change these Terms and Conditions at any time to accurately reflect our Service and policies. Unless otherwise required by law, changes will be prominently posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may cancel your membership.

11. Your Consent

By using our website, registering an account, placing an order, or providing your mobile phone number, you consent to these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our SMS messaging program as described in Section 4. This consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time by contacting us directly.
