MY FAMILY'S (NATURAL FOOD) JOURNEY.

Meet Our Family

My name is Tyrone Jackson, and the beautiful woman beside me in the photo is my wife of nearly 20 years, Marcella. Surrounding us are our four children — Lilly, Jennie, Evan, and Eva. They’re much older (and taller) now, but that picture still captures who we are at our core.

The Local Meat Club grew out of our family’s long search for real, natural food. When we began, we didn’t know how to ferment, dehydrate, or make many of the staples we rely on today. We didn’t even know unpasteurized milk existed. We only knew one thing: we were done with the Industrial Food system, and we needed something better for our family.

What we expected to be a simple lifestyle change became a 20-year journey of transformation — physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial. As we learned more, we realized the process wasn’t just about fixing what we ate; it was about who we were becoming. To live the life we envisioned, we had to step beyond conventional norms and take personal responsibility for our health, happiness, and prosperity. Instead of waiting for better systems, we felt called to create them.

 

That calling led us across the country, into deep self-reflection, and into the lives of hundreds of families on similar paths. Along the way we:

  • Started a natural sausage company, The Good Frank

  • Built our own private food system

  • Had two unassisted home births

  • Homeschooled all four of our children

  • Learned to make everything from toothpaste to probiotic drinks

  • Watched Marcella become a Reiki Master

  • And helped me become a more patient, more grounded husband (still a work in progress)

 

Our lives today are richer and more peaceful than we ever imagined — not because we’ve arrived, but because we embraced the journey.
